General Information

The newly updated CDC guidelines affirm our current modes of learning and use of mitigation strategies in BPS101. Given our current transmission rates, the CDC recommends hybrid learning/reduced attendance and requires six feet of social distancing, which is how BPS101 is presently operating. BPS101 has a commitment to providing in-person experiences for students when it is safe to do so, and at this time the guidance does not support expanding in-person learning. For more about the indicators and thresholds, see the updated guidance on the CDC website.

If a student will be absent from in-person or remote learning due to illness or any other reason, parents must report the absence to the school’s attendance line just as they normally would. If your student has been placed on quarantine, no call is necessary since the nurse will record the absence for you.

Additionally, please let your school nurse know if your student:

  • Has symptoms
  • Has COVID
  • Has been asked to quarantine

The purpose of the notification is to keep track of the number of students unable to return to school and to determine if contact tracing is needed.

District nursing staff will still be available to walk families through the Quarantine/Contract Tracing process.
