ECC Newsletter 12/1/23

EC Phone Number 630-937-8002

Absence Line Number (available 24 hours a day) 630-937-8003

As students are coming down with more illnesses, it is essential that you call the highlighted number above when your child is absent.  If you email teacher or send them a message via SeeSaw, the office does not get that information especially if the teacher also happens to be out that day.  So please please call the absence line when your student will be absent from school.  Thank you!

Hello Early Childhood Families,

I hope that you had a restful and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your friends and family.

Outside Play Gear– We had our first days with snow on the ground for our outdoor motor time.  Please assist the staff members in helping keep everyone’s gear organized by making sure that your child’s name is in every item that you send in, that if you send your student to school in their snow boots that you send shoes for them to wear in the classroom, and that you provide your student with mittens as opposed to gloves because preschool students tend to struggle with getting their fingers into every finger spot with gloves.  It is also very helpful if you have your student’s winter gear in a separate sturdy bag so that they are still able to unpack their backpack to remove their folders when they arrive at school.  We do send students outside for their motor time unless the real feel is less than 10 degrees.

Don’t forget to RSVP for Gingerbread Jamboree!  I still have many many families who have not submitted an RSVP.  Deadline to RSVP is December 12, 2023.  In order to help this go more smoothly, we need anyone who is planning to attend the event to RSVP using their legal name that is printed on their driver’s license or state id  This is a special adult(s) only event.  No younger or older siblings will be allowed to attend.  Newborns that can be worn in a sling or a wrap will be allowed, but no strollers or car seats will be allowed

We are Hiring!

Are you or anyone you know a nurse ready for a change in your work environment? If so, we have amazing opportunities for you. Join our health services team at Batavia Public Schools and help shape the future for students. You would be helping students stay healthy, safe, and achieve greatness at school. We have two openings within the district for licensed RNs.  One would be per diem as an RN substitute for the district. This would allow you to work when needed. The other opening is for a permanent RN sub position. This would be a full-time position with the option to take benefits (medical, dental, vision, and a pension). You can work your student’s schedule – no weekends, holidays, or summers. To apply for these and all other positions open at BPS101, please visit our Human Resources Department page on our website.

PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY roadway signs are available for residents and businesses to post on their property. The signs are an effort to provide a visual reminder to drivers to be careful in the warmer months, and the beginning of school, when more bicyclists and pedestrians are sharing the road. The signs are available at Batavia City Hall, 100 N. Island Ave., the BPS101 administrative offices, 335 W. Wilson St., the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave., and the Batavia Park District administrative offices, 327 W. Wilson St.
