All JBN events are on the JBN Parent calendar JB Nelson Families, Our second and third grade students performed in their Science themed musical this week and rocked it! Next Wednesday is our Kindergarten “Sneak Peek” from 5:00-6:15. There are currently 51 children registered for kindergarten. To ensure that everyone has a good experience, we are going to hold two sessions. Please arrive at the following times: 5:00- 530 Students with a last name that begins with A-M 5:45- 6:15 Students with a last name that begins with N-Z Next Tuesday I will be on the road with the fourth grade students as we are going to visit Springfield! I have another admin coming to support the building and I am SO excited that our students are getting this opportunity to see the things they learn about in Social Studies in real life! We are already fundraising for this trip for next year’s classes as it is an expensive trip. We hope you enjoy your weekend and we will see you on Monday! Mrs. Prentiss S.E.L. (Social Emotional Learning) School-Home connections to help students grow their SEL skills! BPS Strategic Plan Priority 2, Strategy 3-Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Programs BPS Strategic Plan Priority 2, Strategy 4-Family & Community Partnerships All students at JBN learn about social emotional skills in their daily classroom meetings. All teachers follow the District’s Portrait of a Graduate sequence grades K-5. For the month of April, our focus is on Motivation Motivation is the feeling or energy that helps us want to do something. It’s like the “fuel” that helps us try our best, even when things are hard. When we’re motivated, we stay focused on our goals and keep going, whether it’s finishing a task, learning something new, or helping a friend. Motivation comes from inside us, but it can also come from others, like when a teacher encourages us or we think about the rewards for doing our best. It helps us believe we can do anything if we keep trying! Students are learning about using perseverance to overcome challenges! Specifically, how to adjust mindsets by pausing, reflecting, and setting new goals to keep motivation when facing challenges! JBN PTO All JBN events are on our: BPS Strategic Plan Priority 2, Strategy 4-Family & Community Partnerships PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) website ALL JBN parents are automatically a part of the JBN PTO. BPS Strategic Plan Priority 2, Strategy 4-Family & Community Partnerships The PTO will meet in the LRC at 6:30PM on: August 6th September 3rd October 1st November 12th December 10th January 14th February 11th March 11th April 15th May 13th (Off campus) Meetings are in the LRC and childcare is provided.
